[28 Dec 2009|02:54am] |
We've had an assload of snow lately, and our house looks pretty cute all covered in it, if I may say so myself. I'm sorry about the crappy quality, my camera apparently doesn't cope well in the dark.

Your Christmas what was it like? (cross posted to my own journal)
6 little questions
- What do you normally do on Christmas Eve? Did you have to work?
- Who did you share Christmas with?
- When do you open presents? Do you have stockings?
- What time did it start? Do you wake early and excited?
- What traditions do you have? Did you keep them or add any new ones?
- Can we see your trimmings please?
( my answers behind the cut )

Hey everybody, so, today is my least favorite day of the year. i always get kinda depressed on this day. There's so much build up and anticipation for Christmas, basically starting in October, and then on 26 December it's all over. Everything that made me almost burst with joy from day after Thanksgiving-yesterday (lights, christmas trees, christmas music, christmas movies, egg nog ect.) just makes me gloomy today. last night even, i saw a Christmas tree lot with trees still in it and it was one of the most depressing things ever. i find myself thinking that getting through the next year, waiting for my favorite holiday, will be torture. so, my question is do other people have this annual Christmas crash? and if so, how do you deal with it?
i'm so glad i'm part of a community that i can share this with and that will understand!

I wish more people would realise that even though Christmas Eve/Christmas Day is over, the Holiday season is not over yet. ♥

| MERRY CHRISTMAS! |
[25 Dec 2009|10:55pm] |
Well, Christmas is almost over now. :( But I hope everyone had a good one!
And it'll continue to be Christmas year 'round here at this community. :D
What did you enjoy most about this Christmas? Anything specifically, or everything?
I think the highlight for me was sharing a beautiful Christmas service at my church last night along with my family, being with them and singing Christmas songs.
I wish everyone peace and happiness for the new year. Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas, everyone.
In a way, this year dragged by much slower than I liked. In a way, it went quicker than I ever imagined it would.
I hope today is a wonderful day for everyone, and that whatever problems you're facing seem brighter, even if it's just for today. I hope you spend the day surrounded by the people you love and that you spend it doing everything you love.
(Oh, by the way, it's only 365 more days until Christmas. ;))

| "Amazing Grace" Is Renewed In Soulful Holiday Rendition On Native American Flute And Flugelhorn |
[24 Dec 2009|12:36pm] |

San Francisco, CA - December 23, 2009 - The well-known classic "Amazing Grace" experienced a holiday makeover by visionary musicians Ann Licater and Jeff Oster. The San Francisco-based musicians collaborated to create a completely new rendition of one of the world's best-known songs. Unclassifiable as either Jazz, World, Christian or New Age music exactly, the track is finding a wide audience during its Holiday 2009 release as a 99-cent digital download exclusively on CDBaby (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/licateroster ) and iTunes. (http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/ann-licater-jeff-oster/id347771432)
Licater explains, "Jeff (Oster) and I were originally inspired to create this rendition of ‘Amazing Grace' for consideration in the 2009 presidential inauguration; to us the Native American flute represented the heart of the people and the Flugelhorn really conveyed the honor and heraldry of the occasion."
The song stayed in the artists' hearts and minds all year long, seeming to beckon for a Holiday release. Although the musicians are both working on producing their next albums, they felt compelled to share the song with the world this year, rather than hold it for inclusion on future albums. Hymns and holiday music traditionally receive a boost at the holidays, and at just 99 cents on CDBaby.com, the download is priced right for sales during a recession-riddled holiday. The duo intends to employ a completely online "green marketing" approach to promoting the track, hoping fans will love it enough to pass it on to family and friends.

| Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown! |
[24 Dec 2009|09:26am] |

Look what my mom sent me! It's a Charlie Brown Christmas tree! I love it. And in true Charlie Brown form, in taking it outside to photograph it I broke the red ornament, so now there's a substitute from my other tree on it. But it's okay. It's Christmas Eve! Warmth and health and happiness and love to each of you!
